Properties of Resin Screws (Nylon / Plastic Screws)

Resin screws are specified according to JIS and ISO standards, but because their production method differs from that of metal screws, some provisions do not apply.

  • Mechanical property values shown in tables are reference values; actual figures vary with service conditions.
  • The color of small screws, bolts, nuts and washers may vary between production batches.
  • Use a torque screwdriver or torque wrench when fastening.
  • Chemical resistance varies with service conditions; always test under conditions identical to the real application first.

Resin Screw Material Selection

Relative strength ranking of common engineering resins: RENY > PPS > PEEK GF30 > VESPEL (SP-1) > PEEK > PC > PA (Nylon) > PTFE. Select the grade that matches your mechanical load, temperature and chemical environment.
